North Texas Falconry Featured by Buildings at the 2026 North Texas Facilities Expo

At the 2026 North Texas Facilities Expo, our team spent the day talking with facility managers, property managers, and maintenance leaders about a problem most of them know well: nuisance birds. We were proud to exhibit, and even prouder when Buildings, a publication that has served building owners and facilities professionals since 1906, selected North Texas Falconry as one of only four exhibitors featured in its expo coverage.

In Dealing with Labor Shortages? Check Out These 4 Maintenance Solutions, Buildings Editor-in-Chief Janelle Penny highlighted solutions that help facilities maintain their standards when staffing is tight. North Texas Falconry appeared alongside SmartDots Robotics Solutions, Tork, and ABM, and the article links directly to our website.

Why Bird Abatement Belongs in a Labor Shortage Conversation

Nuisance birds create work. Droppings on sidewalks, storefronts, parking structures, loading docks, and signage all need regular cleanup, and nesting material can clog gutters and equipment. Every hour a maintenance crew spends cleaning up after birds is an hour not spent on work orders and preventive maintenance.

The Buildings article made this point clearly: removing nuisance bird flocks saves crews cleanup time and reduces the money spent on static deterrents that often fail to deliver lasting results. For short-staffed teams, that recovered time matters.

Real Predators, Not Static Deterrents

If you have seen pigeons nesting on top of bird spikes or roosting beside a plastic owl, you have seen the core limitation of static deterrents. Birds learn quickly that these devices pose no real threat.

Our approach is different. Our trained birds of prey fly your property and hunt as they would in nature, applying genuine predator pressure to problem flocks. As we told Buildings, nuisance birds know the difference between a static deterrent and a real predator presence, and that difference shows up in the results.

A Species-Specific Approach

Not every nuisance bird responds the same way, so we tailor each program to the species and the site:

  • Grackles and other roosting birds tend to relocate once they see hawks working the property during evening hours.

  • Pigeons have a strong homing instinct and typically require physical removal by our hawks before a site is cleared.

Timelines vary with species, flock size, and site conditions. As reported in the article, some properties begin seeing results in as few as two to ten days.

A Green, Chemical-Free Solution

Falconry-based abatement uses nature to solve a nature problem. There are no poisons, no chemicals, and no hardware bolted to your building. Our team operates under a Master Falconer License and a federal Special Purpose Abatement Using Raptors Permit, so property owners and managers can be confident the work is fully licensed and compliant.
